Bravo on a Stellar School Play Performance!

Wow, what a week!  Students across the school worked together to get ready for their performance of Tellin’ Tales on Friday.  Every prop, backdrop, and costume was created at school.  In the 3/4 class we painted giant cardboard houses, sewed costumes, crafted paper mache vegetables, and made a fire from colorful transparent ribbon.  The artwork and craftsmanship on display was incredible!

Throughout the week students also rehearsed their lines, songs, and dance numbers with Kendra.  On Thursday, everyone got to visit the Black Box theater where the performance would be held.  The class practiced their play in anticipation of the big show.

Finally the big day arrived.  Students were filled with excitement during the final rehearsal on Friday morning.  All adorned in their costumes, students couldn’t wait for the opening curtain.  During both performances, students did an amazing job of remembering their lines, performing their song and dance, and belting it out to the back rows of the theater.  A fantastic time was had by all!

A big Thank You to our wonderful music teacher Kendra, all the teachers who worked so hard to make the play possible, our helpful stage hands in the 6/7 class, and most of all the students for rising to the occasion on the big stage.  Bravo!

Have a wonderful break,

Dylan Fitzsimmons
